The Route

We invite you to "be on board" with us as the Grand Ophir Sea Expedition unfolds. Over a span of years, Gene Savoy and his small crew will sail the seven seas, to confirm his long-held theory that there was cultural exchange among ancient peoples on a global level and for thousands of years via the sea.

Our "Dragon Ships" will visit sites of ancient high cultures around the world:

  • Year 1: Peru and Hawaii

  • Year 2: South Pacific and Australia

  • Year 3: Far East and India

  • Year 4: Arabia and the Middle East

  • Year 5: Egypt and Africa

  • Year 6: Europe and the Mediterranean

  • Year 7: Brazil, Mexico, Central and South America

The expedition will seek to uncover evidence that substantiates the theory that the ancient peoples of high civilizations from the "Old" and "New" Worlds were in contact with each other via the seaways from very early times. There is much evidence religious, mythical, archeological, epigraphic that points to it.

While at sea, the Grand Ophir Sea Expedition will follow sea routes that could have been used by the ancients. They will demonstrate how ancient mariners could have employed the trade winds and favorable currents to reach far off destinations. And at each port, expedition members will stay awhile to undertake research on cultural, social and religious similarities and exchanges as part of an ongoing research program called "Project X: Search for the Secrets of Immortality".
